Dear Evanston,
Don’t lose FOCUS! At a meeting Tuesday, Family Focus, Inc. shared the news that it plans to put Family Focus Evanston’s historic building—of enormous significance to Evanston’s Black community—up for sale.
As we learn more about plans to keep the building in the community and serving the community, please plan to support these efforts.
The building is important to the black community, but we are ONE community and it’s incumbent on ALL of us to come together so that Family Focus, formerly Foster School, does not to go the way of other important landmarks such as Community Hospital, the Emerson YMCA, Foster School and others that were part of Evanston’s vibrant, successful Black community.
