Happy Holidays from the team at ESCCA - Evanston School Children's Clothing Association!

Each year, Dear Evanston invites organizations and groups that work toward building bridges across race and socioeconomics, increasing equity, reducing poverty and ending gun violence in Evanston to send a holiday message to the community.

Here are Tracy Gallun and Kristin Harrelson O'Connor, co-presidents of ESCCA, an 87-year-old Evanston organization.

ESCCA's mission is to ensure that no Kindergarten through eighth-grade Evanston/Skokie School District 65 school student miss school for lack of warm clothing.

With the help of volunteers and generous donors, ESCCA provides about 700 children every year with a free, full winter wardrobe from its clothing center, including the essentials most needed--a winter coat, hats, gloves, and new boots.

Their wish for Evanston: The comfort of warmth and every happiness in the new year.
