Ike Ogbo Appointed Director of Health and Human Services

Interim City Manager Erika Storlie has appointed Ike Ogbo as director of the City of Evanston’s Health & Human Services Department.

Ogbo, who has served as the department’s interim director since March, will oversee the department’s social service, public and environmental health programs.

“Ike brings more than a decade of experience working to support Evanston’s diverse public health and human services needs to this important position,” said Storlie. “I look forward to working with Ike and our Health & Human Services Department staff to improve and protect the health and well-being of all who live, work and play in our city."

Ogbo began his career with the City in 2008 as a licensed environmental health practitioner and was promoted to public health manager in 2015. Prior to his service in Evanston, he worked in various assignments for the Illinois Department of Public Health and the McLean County Health Department.

Ogbo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois.
