Find out about Nutcrakerish, and communal celebrations of Kwanzaa, and Hannukah in Evanston!

WHEN: 6 p.m., Monday, December 2

A message from Tim Rhoze, FJT's artistic director:

Yes! I have finally selected the plays and concerts for the FJT Summertime Season 2020 and I will share the lineup at Prairie Moon on Mon., Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. during the annual FJT Summertime Season 2020 Announcement Party.

Come join us as we nibble on a delicious appetizer buffet and enjoy a cash bar. You will also be able to purchase your brand new 2020 Premium Gold Member Card for only $60! That's a $90 savings over the regular season ticket prices, and is only available at that price at the announcement party.

What a great holiday gift. Gold Members will enjoy three plays, a rockin' summertime concert, and the season-ending “Stompin" at the Savoy Wine & Dine Dance Party and Concert, along with several 2020 Summertime Season specials.

Next up…The Nutcracker(ish)! Last year’s hit holiday play returns and your entire family will again join Clara, Toto, the Snow Woman and the Nutcracker on their journey to have their holiday wishes granted by the mysterious Sorceress.

Children of all ages will enjoy this magical journey filled with classical ballet, hip-hop, modern dance and the beloved Tchaikovsky score. Bring the entire family to share in this holiday theatrical treasure. With only four performances on the schedule, tickets are sure to go fast. Don’t delay! Purchase your tickets today.

This year we will again have a community sharing of the Kwanzaa and Chanukah celebrations. On December 26, Dr. Gilo Kwesi Cornell Logan and Soul Creations will lead the Kwanzaa celebration at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center at 6 p.m.

There will be plenty of family arts & crafts, food, interactive African drumming and dancing and of course the lighting of the Kinara, which signifies the seven principles of Kwanzaa.

On December 27, we will join our neighbors at Beth Emet The Free Synagogue and celebrate Chanukah, the Festival of Lights at 5:30 p.m. The dynamic and moving ceremony will be led by Rabbi Amy L MemisFoler, and there will be plenty of great traditional Jewish dishes served. Let's share our differences and celebrate our unity.

We are a great community!
