Though the lasting impact of high-quality early childhood care and education on children's health and educational success has become increasingly clear, many children and families don't have access, and programs struggle for adequate resources.
A coalition of more than 60 concerned community partners from Evanston and Skokie are supporting an effort to ensure that all our children get the best start and build a strong foundation for future success through the Lifting Up Early Childhood series.
The next event in the series, The First 1,100 Days Last Forever, will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26 at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Literary and Fine Arts School, 2424 Lake Street and will feature a talk about early childhood education by Erikson Institute President Geoff Nagle.
Discussion will be moderated by Rebeca Mendoza, school board member, District 65.
