Witness Slips Needed Immediately!

I haven't posted a call for witness slips in a long time, but today I have TWO really important ones, so please fill them out as soon as possible!

1. SAY NO TO 'STAND YOUR GROUND' BILL

Stop racist "Stand Your Ground” policies that encourage gun violence! HB 5058 is a bill that puts all Illinoisans in danger, especially people of color. It will will be heard in the House Judiciary Committee at 3 p.m. this afternoon. File a witness flip as an OPPONENT right now here.

2. EXPAND ECONOMIC SECURITY AND SAFETY FOR SURVIVORS/VICTIMS OF VIOLENT CRIME

The second is HB 4871, is a bill that would provide economic security to victims of violent crimes, including gun violence victims and their families. This is an important bill for survivor families who have in many cases been force to go back to work within days of losing a child or have lost their jobs. It will be heard today in the Labor and Commerce meeting.
