City Services Shutdown Announced for Monday, May 18
The City of Evanston announced today that there will be changes to non-emergency City services and operations this coming Monday, May 18, as part of a citywide furlough day. The furlough day is part of an effort to reduce the City's significant budget shortfall brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most non-emergency City services and operations will not be available on May 18; however, the Health and Human Services Department's COVID-19 response, water production operations, and police and fire emergency services will continue.
Residents should still contact 911 in the event of an emergency, and may dial 847-866-5000 for non-emergency police issues.
**Evanston 311**
Evanston 311 services will not be available on Monday, May 18. Residents may continue to place service requests online here or through the Evanston 311 mobile app. Evanston 311 will be open on Saturday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be closed on Sunday, May 17.
**Youth meals distribution**
Youth meals distribution will be offered on Tuesdays, May 19 and May 26, due to the furlough day and Memorial Day holiday. Food distribution will take place at a new time, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the four distribution locations: Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center; Robert Crown Community Center; Kamen Park David Wood Fieldhouse; and Mason Park.
Food distribution will not take place on Mondays, May 18 and 25.
**Refuse collection**
Recycling collection will not take place on Monday, May 18. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday recycling collections will be delayed by one day.
Trash, food, and yard waste collections will occur as normally scheduled during the week of May 18.
**Street cleaning**
Street cleaning will not take place on Monday, May 18. Street-cleaning parking restrictions will not be enforced.
**Library**
Evanston Public Library services will continue to be offered by phone and email on Monday, May 18, but will not be available on Friday, May 22.
City facilities, including the Morton Civic Center, recreation community centers and Evanston Public Library locations, continue to be closed as part of the Stay at Home Order, and will not be open on May 18.
