Covid-19 statistics for Illinois

Illinois announced 2,208 newly confirmed cases of coronavirus, and 24 additional deaths today. That brings the statewide total of known cases since the pandemic began to 215,929, and the death toll to 7,857. Also, Illinois health officials said 20 counties are now considered at a warning level for coronavirus because of rising risk indicators, and that cases of the virus connected to schools are beginning to be reported.
