Free ice-cream for kids! Thanks to EFD and C&W Market and Ice Cream Parlor
Evanston firefighters from Fire Station 3, shift 1, will give away ice cream (while supplies last) to kids at C&W Market and Ice Cream Parlor!
Here's the scoop:
When: Sunday July 19th
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: 1902 Church st
Why:
This year, due to COVID-19, many local businesses and residents donated meals to Evanston firefighters to show their appreciation and thanks.
Evanston firefighters pay $15 a day, per shift, for their daily food needs, which usually includes lunch and dinner. Remaining funds are put into the shift "kitty" for special meals, such as holiday dinners, promotions or retirements.
This year, thanks to the generosity of the community, Fire Station 3 was able to deposit a little more into their "kitty," and now they're sharing that generosity with the community through an ice cream social.
July 19th happens to also be National Ice Cream Day, so it’s the perfect day to come out and enjoy a tasty treat from some of your local Evanston firefighters while supporting an amazing Black owned business.
More details:
Fire Station 3 has donated $200 for this event. Ice cream will be passed out to kids by Engine and Trucks 23 members as long as supplies last!
All attendees over two years old should wear a face covering while in line and should practice physical distancing.
