Mayor Hagerty to Host Q&A and Discussion Series on Policing in Evanston

First discussion to cover Police Training, July 6 at noon

Evanston community members are invited to join Mayor Hagerty and members of the Evanston Police Department, along with other guests, for a "Q&A and Discussion Series on Policing in Evanston."

The series, which will be televised and streamed online, will provide community members with an opportunity to learn and ask questions about a variety of topics related to policing in Evanston, including the department's Use of Force Policy and Body Cameras, Complaint Process, Police Budget, NU Police and EPD Collaboration, and more.

According to a news release from the City today, these sessions will help inform the City Council's discussion on policing in Evanston as they consider any appropriate changes to better serve the community.

The first discussion in the series will take place on Monday, July 6, at noon, and will focus on Police Training.

Residents can watch the discussion live on Channel 16 and on the City’s Facebook page.

Questions may be submitted live during the broadcast or in advance using the City’s Q&A form, or by commenting on the Facebook Live broadcast.

For those unable to participate, a recording of the broadcast will be available and shared through the City’s communications channels later in the week.
