Mayor’s Next Policing Q&A will focus on Police Complaint Process.
On August 3 at noon, community members are invited to join Mayor Steve Hagerty, members of the Evanston Police Department, and attorney and former chair of the City's Citizen Police Complaint Assessment Committee, Matthew Mitchell, for a Q&A and discussion on the Police Complaint Process.
This session, like the others, will be streamed live on the City of Evanston Illinois Government FB page and on the City's Channel 16, and is, according to a press release, intended to help inform the City Council's discussion on policing in Evanston as they consider any appropriate changes to better serve the community.
Monday's session will cover the Evanston Police Department's complaint process and the findings and recommendations of the City's Citizen Police Complaint Assessment Committee.
Questions may be submitted live during the broadcast or in advance using the City’s Q&A form, or by commenting on the Facebook Live broadcast.
For those unable to participate, a recording of the broadcast will be available and shared through the City’s communications channels later in the week.
Previous discussions in the series have focused on Use of Force and Body Cameras, EPD Collaboration with NUPD and Schools, Police Budget and Police Training.
Community members can watch recordings of these discussions on the City's YouTube channel
