Statewide, Illinois officials reported 31 more deaths related to COVID-19 in the previous 24 hours, the lowest number since April 5, when 31 deaths were also recorded.
There were also 1,713 new known coronavirus cases in the last day, bringing the state’s total since the pandemic began to 112,017. The state’s total death count is now 4,884, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health (from the Chicago Tribune; read more here).
