Really looking forward to watching “Soul of the Nation” tomorrow night at 9 p.m. on Channel 7/ABC.

Soul of the Nation, a six-part series, marks the first time a major broadcast network is dedicating a primetime news magazine to Black life.

The first episode will focus on Evanston’s reparations initiative and is produced by Ashely Brown, who was born and raised in Evanston and graduated from Evanston Township High School!

“This is a fun collision of my worlds,” Ashley Brown tweeted yesterday. “Proud to work on this new ABC series ... and definitely proud to be from Evanston and have produced a story on it."

The show debuts tomorrow and will feature Ald. Robin Rue Simmons, Dino Robinson, Jared Davis and other Evanstonians interviewed by ABC News’ Byron Pitts who visited Evanston in January to learn about the reparations initiative.
