Second Baptist Evanston, in partnership with the Knight Family and Stone Family Trust Foundations, will host its annual Christmas Giveaway beginning at 11 a.m. this Saturday, December 19 at the Civic Center, 2100 Ridge.
Second Baptist has hosted this event for local families in need of holiday support for more than 25 years. “The challenges of 2020 have created an increased need which is why the generous support of the Knight Family and Stone Family Trust Foundations have enabled us to distribute well over $35,000 in food, coats, and gifts to our community," said Rev. Eddie Journey, SBC's executive minister.
More than 150 families have been identified through community partnerships with Evanston/Skokie School District 65, and other Evanston organizations and schools. But unregistered families may receive a free turkey, while supplies last, so make sure to get there by 11 a.m.
