DE is pleased to co-sponsor a weekly voter-registration and mail-in-ballot registration event with the Democratic Party of Evanston outside C & W Market and Ice Cream Parlor (corner of Church and Dodge) every Saturday. Thanks, Wendy Weaver and Clarence Weaver for initiating this important effort to get folks ready to vote in November! Starting next week, you'll also be able to fill out your census form here! 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Join Michel'le Harris' for her second Conversation in the Park about building community and stopping gun violence in Evanston. This week, the group meets at Brummel Park. Find out more here.


1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Pastor Karl Angelia Adair invites everyone to Walk and Worship for peace and against gun violence. Meet at James Park (Oakton and Dodge) for a rally, then the group will walk to Evanston Township High School (ETHS) for a concluding gathering. Find out more here.


7 p.m.

Black Male Alliance will march through parts of Evanston most affected by gun violence to listen to residents' ideas for solutions. Community members welcome to join and support. Meet at Gibbs-Morrison at 6:45 p.m. Find out more here.


TOMORROW, SUNDAY AUGUST 16

Noon to 5 p.m.

Evanston Fight for Black Lives will hold a back-to-school drive at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster Street, for Evanston students. Find out more here.
