Two upcoming discussions: race, policing, and Evanston

As the city and the country focus on policing, police brutality, and reimagining the police, here's

one of Dear Evanston's first interviews from 2016 in which we addressed the issue with long-time Evanstonians Dickelle Fonda and Jevoid Simmons.

Tomorrow from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there is an event led by the young people at Evanston Fight for Black Lives -- facilitated discussions to talk about "what does defunding the police mean." Find out more here.

The event takes place at Mason Park. It's open to all. Dear Evanston will livestream.

On Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. Evanston City Clerk Devon Reid will host a discussion on Facebook Live on policing and race in Evanston. Find out more here.
