Today and tonight, Tuesday, January 5

It's La Principal's Taco Tuesday and 50 percent of every purchase will go to the Jackson family whose apartment was gutted by a fire in the early morning of December 23. Order lunch or dinner online or call 224-307-2444.

Wednesday, January 6 to Friday, January 15

Pinto Thai Kitchen will donate 5 percent of all purchases to the Jackson family!

They're located at 1931 Central Street.

Community Alliance for Better Government will hold a Zoom conference on shaping Equitable and Robust Democracy in Evanston.

Residents will participate in shaping a platform and learn how to get involved in supporting aldermanic and mayoral candidates who walk the progressive talk. Alliance for Better Government is a grassroots organization co-founded by Gail Schechter, Rick Marsh, and Oliver Ruff.

The conference will focus on developing the people’s platform to define what Government Transparency and Accountability should be in Evanston, including:

• Robust resident participation in government decision making

• Racial equity

• Holding elected officials accountable

• Organizing to “Get Out the Vote” for Aldermen, Mayor and City Clerk

Monday, January 11, 6 p.m.

Mayoral candidate Daniel Biss' campaign will hold a Zoom Town Hall--the first in a series of virtual gatherings to provide space for residents to ask Biss questions and hear his plans for Evanston.

If you are running for office in Evanston and have upcoming events scheduled, email with information.

Mayoral (and some aldermanic) primary is February 23. Election Day is April 6, 2021.
