December 17, 2018

Artistic Director Tim Rhoze of Evanston's Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre has announced FJT's summertime 2019 lineup--celebrating the theatre's 40th year in Evanston!

There's still time to get a great deal on a season pass. Don't miss out!

Here's the amazing, do-not-miss, lineup

THE MOUNTAINTOP by Katori Hall
June 15 to 30

This surrealistic fantasy set in Room 306 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis is about a chance encounter between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a maid, who prompts him to confront his life, his legacy and the future of his people on the eve of his assassination in 1968.

SUNSET BABY by Dominique Morisseau
July 13-28

Nina, a tough, independent woman, is visited by her estranged father, a former revolutionary in the Black Liberation Movement who seeks to mend their broken relationship. As father and daughter circle one another, deep-rooted wounds are discovered, generational differences exposed, and burning truths lay bare.

BLACK BALLERINA by Stephen Fedo and Tim Rhoze
August 10-25

From the two local playwrights that brought you "A Home on the Lake."

Three generations of Black women dream of fulfilling their passion to dance the iconic roles in the world of classical ballet. They confront the realities of discrimination, harassment, and broken promises while fighting for the right to dance. Teeming with original choreographed ballet performances, Black Ballerina is a gift.
