"Black Ballerina," starring Evanston ballet dancer Kara Roseborough, explores race, racism, passion, and ambition through conversations between three generations of women.

August 11, 2019

The characters share their experiences and perspectives and delve into tough issues through stunning dance, witty reparte, and biting humor, accompanied by beautiful live piano.

The play, a collaboration between Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre and Piven Theatre Workshop, opened last night to a standing ovation. It was written by Tim Rhoze and Stephen Fedo and runs through August 25 at Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre, 927 Noyes Street. Take yourself and your budding ballerina to see it soon!
